just a few points with production programs however. [i've dabbled with several in the last 2 months to see which fit my needs most]
i don't believe floops is inferior. as long as you use high quality samples, and make the most of quality VSTi's and DXi's. it has a great sequencer interface. i don't think anybody can argue with that, and there're more than enough producers that have released great stuff on it. i.e. guyver, dumonde. i don't see much of a purpose in jumping from floops to reason, also seeing reason is an all in 1 package. once you get that VSTi exposure, you'll want to keep it. if you really feel the need to move on to something bigger, move on to something like cubase or logic.
i've also checked out buzz dj way, and its a great program. it's not too difficult to get your head around and its so powerful in its ability to layer and detail. but like you said, its not for everybody. i just found staring at scroll bars from the machines helluva lot tedious. its amazing what staring at knobs will do for your creativity =p |
