Atlanta TA's: give me some feedback on my idea

phonk64
that is definitely one of the best ideas i've heard in a while. lake lanier rules, drinking rules, trance rules, and ATL TA's rule so logically something that combines all of that should rule! :toocool: :toocool: :toocool:

If details come at a later date definitely count me in.

I know a gal who wakeboards all the time in lake lanier and has had some shindigs on those exact islands..

she told me that whoever is in charge of them doesn't care whats up unless we cut down trees or with the environment...

look into it more, but i really think this is possible.

let's make it happen, guys!

Really. What I've been reading (as far as laws go) as that there has been a general problem with fires and rowdiness on the islands (thats what I read in the link I posted a few replies up). Though I would expect that from the officials anyways :D . Seriously though, I HAVE had some pretty decent shindigs out there, with plenty of boats, bonfires and fireworks and haven't been bothered, but the last time that happened was July 4th of 2002, since our houseboat has been beached since last year for repair.

So, I'd like to talk to her if it's not too terribly inconvienent (if she just has AIM or email or something). If she doesn't, can you just ask her for me:

a) what are the odds of pulling off an overnight party (without being busted) complete with loud music, tiki torches/bonfires and such, alcohol, and, say 50-125 people, and

b) what are the odds of doing it for, say, 2-3 days, in a nonstop party?

Also ask her if she can/knows anyone who can help us with the boat need. Thats the biggest necessity right now, and currently I stand at 1 small ski boat, and thats if I can convince my folks to let me steal it for the weekend :D

Btw I'm changing the tentative date to June 18/19/20, since the next weekend is a skate comp which I cant miss and the weekend after that is July 4th, for which I'm not getting the most positive of feedback (tho the fireworks would rock). If we can pull it off early in the summer we could do another later on.

Btw is anyone going to gripe if I'm tilting the music policy towards tribal/house/prog trance (the good kind, like sander k/pete tong @ ultra EM kind) to go in with the whole outdoors beach theme? Some good injections of straight trance or other variety are fine with me, but nothing beats tribal/house for the outdoors, especially beaches :D . You'll at least have to put up with a rocking, funky set from me, since it is my own party after all :D

ok first off:
http://lanier.sam.usace.army.mil/recreation.htm
With over 690 miles of shoreline and over 100 small islands Lake Lanier is the perfect place to pursue your recreational adventure. Whether it is fishing, camping, boating, picnicking, swimming or a variety of other recreation activities, Lake Lanier has it all.

secondly....we dont know if the islands are considered to be a part of the camping situation (http://lanier.sam.usace.army.mil/camping.htm) but it says:

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are prohibited in all parks.
NOISE: Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Unreasonable or excessive noise at any time is prohibited.

regardless, though, my friend says they've made a lot of noise and whatnot and did not get in trouble....
look at this, though: http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/...6cfr327_01.html

In reference to your questions:
she said:

A) she said that that was exactly what the 4th of july was and no one complained. If you go to the middle where the dam is and not near any houses where the shoreline is, then no one would complain. But you'd have to find place that is nestled and far away from any sort of housing complex. I guess the key here is .......only we would be around that area. Desolated and just us...she says you'd have to search the islands, and find which creeks are better to work with.

B) That goes along with the first one, as long as no one knows about it. BUt having so many people at a non-stop party might be risKAY lol. Regardless look up the rules and regulations.

As far as the boat goes...her dad sold her boat:(

i hope this helped out man.

anything else, ill be glad to ask.
