Is there a trance/dance/techno radio station in your city?

Yo_Mo
If there is, do you like it?
If not, do you wish there was one?
Do you think it is a good idea to have such a radio station?
Do you think it could be profitable? Why or why not?
In your opinion, what age group listens to the station?
If you have this radio station in your city, has it made an impact on local clubs? Has it made any impact on anything?

I'm asking because I live in Louisville, KY. All of the radio stations here play country, top 40, and punk/rock/metal/whatever. That's it.
Some clubs are starting to play dance music, so they are kind of getting into the electronic genre. But most clubs here play only top 40. I think that if there were a such a radio station, it could change a few things around here. There are a lot of people who listen to trance in Louisville, but because no one is embracing it, it keeps slipping away.
I think advertising would make a lot of money because the local clubs would want to advertise big time. Also our clothing stores play trance and techno anyway, so I think they would advertise. Plues the target audience is 16-24, so I think places that deal with finance, credit unions, banks, etc would want to advertise.

I know this is long, but I want to get a feeling from people who live in other parts of the country. If there is a lot of positive feedback, I want to get with some people here and try to see about starting a radio station here.

no here in detorit there isnt one. they try to pull it off on friday and saturday nights on the pop station by spinning some dj sammy. i have heard 'as the rush comes' and 'loneliness', but only after theyve been good for 6 months and then they play them when its old and gay. i kinda wish there was one. but to be honest rhe demand isnt high enough, and ppl here hate trance (they are all leet techno lovers and bash trance.) i always wanted to start a radio station like that, but my parents smashed my dream when they told me how many millions of dollars it cost.

it really shows how much people know about trance when the state theatre is PACKED for oakenfold and then empty for scott bond and matt hardwick, who are by far better dj's with better music. damn the pop culture to hell.

My thoughts exactly. After seeing how packed it was at oakenfold, I showed up like 2 hours early for scott bond... big mistake. Was a great event though, i cant understand why anyone would want to miss it...
