I got paid £5 at my old job and somehow the agency had managed to demand £8.50 off my employers .. I know as I got to work with some of the finance side when i wasnt doing data entry. |

yeah, but you wouldnt have got £8.50 if you'd gone straight to the company.
the company pays the agency cause basically they advertise, find the right person, interview them, sort them out the details etc.
the company can't be arsed with the cost and hassle of this |

Most companies don't want to hire ppl direct tho .. its easier to get invoices from the agencies and get them paid off then to pay some1 direct .. as for the wage .. well I guess Im pretty valuable .. but not valuable enough to negotiate a higher wage w/o being kicked out for another temp :(
EDIT: IF i was going to go work abroad id go to the netherlands .. end of :p |

yeh thats what i was saying.
and they have a contract with the agency that they won't offer to take you on and get rid of the agency- even if it would save them money.
eg. they cant say the agency whose charging us £7 and giving u £5- we'll give you £6
its not allowed |
