i dont think it will get u playing better faster, its all an illusion. all they do is infact make it easier. theres a subtle difference..

the main reason why ppl recommend technics is cos 99% of the clubs use them as they are industry standard. The other side is vestax decks. Not to mention the fact that they are top decks :D
Go into some dj shop with decks and try em out. For instance, fire up a gemini 500XL, and stick ur record on it, and put ur finger on the platter to slow it down, it will almost instantaneously stop, then try moving the pitch up and down, and u can hear the delay it takes for the platter to catch up/slow down to the speed change.
Then try same record etc on a technic 1210/vestax, and do exactly the same, not only does putting the finger on the platter actually slow it down and yet and the same time it doesnt stop it dead, unless u really press hard. But... it feels more rigid, and not likely to break down. Check the pitch too :D
Depends how u wanna go about it, see if u can spend some cash on deffo some direct drive decks and get one thats quite torqey |
