1st Time to GC NEC ... Some Questions.

Hello Trance Addicts,

This is my first post and I am excited. I will be coming up from Roma for Gatecrasher NEC. I was wondering if some of you who have been can help me out with some things.

Is there a link for basic rules? I was wondering if backpacks are allowed (I will be travelling a bit and flying out the day after NEC)? What about cameras?

Other questions I have include what time should I get there? How much is water and drinks?

My final question would be if anyone would know the best way to get there from London Stansted? I have heard the trains are a mess that weekend because of work being done and that I should get a coach. Any advice on that?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. Any advice about any aspect of the event would be great. I am so excited. I have never been to a show with a lineup like this.

Ciao da Roma,

A- should be on the back of your ticket

A- yeh they are but expect them to give it a thorough search.

What about cameras?

A- They used to be allowed but now im not to sure because the last few gatecrasher events they have been strict on cameras, so i wouldnt risk it myself.

Other questions I have include what time should I get there?

A- Get there about 9ish maybe 8:45 coz the queues start getting pretty big after that.

How much is water and drinks?

A- i think water is £2, and bottle of either some lager or some eneegry drink were 3. they have all in the way of drink choices.

My final question would be if anyone would know the best way to get there from London Stansted? I have heard the trains are a mess that weekend because of work being done and that I should get a coach. Any advice on that?

A- i have no idea mate, maybe one of the london TA's could help you...

Hello :)

The quickest way is to get a Train from Stansted Airport to Birmingham, takes about 4hours though.

STANSTED AIRPORT 16:25 Train CENTRAL TRAINS
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 19:45 20:03 Train VIRGIN TRAINS
BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL 20:12

DURATION: 3:47

Fare is about £40- See www.nationalrail.co.uk for info.

As for coach its about the same time but costs £30 - See www.gobycoach.com for info

Hope that helps u!

on the NEC site it says they are not open during the night, but im sure the station or aiport carparks will be open since they are next door i think

ye wot? no carparks? that can't be right...

foreign bloke: you might be able to get a locker at the train station to store your pack in overnight if it's big.... then just bring a small one into the NEC with some vitals.
