To render its decision for its LALate Best of Halloween Awards, LALate reviewed several hundred party notices over a four week period, ranging in price from ten dollars to one thousand dollars, and only considered parties on Halloween (disqualifing its Naked Halloween Ball the weekend before). "In our selection, we considered five factors in order of importance.
"(1) First, we looked at the venue for the party.
"(2) Second, we looked at the offerings for the party. Does the event have contests and special offerings.
"(3) Finally, we looked at price. People don't want to go to the same venue from any other night and pay nearly ten times the price for nothing different.

2. Runner Up - Dragon Fly Halloween
This event is the incredible Miss Kitty Party at the Dragon Fly. In a year where we saw parties being offering at $1,000 but giving you nothing, we chose this as our runner up because it's such a bargain for what you get. The weekly Friday event turns into Halloween bash for an incredible event with an incredible host.
If you love the darker decadent side of Halloween, this is your choice. We love this party because of the intimate feel of Dragon Fly and the super strong and very well priced drinks they serve. This event is not for the faint of heart featuring shocking Cabaret shows, Twisted contests, interactive playstations. A $100! FREE drinks flowing all night to the best dressed patrons of the evening.
Cover: $10 before 10 pm, $15 therafter.
Dragon Fly is located at 6510 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood ( between Highland and VINE) EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT. Doors open at 9PM! Close at 2 am
3. Honorable Mention: Mansion Halloween Party.
Hollywood Hill Mansion Party gets an honorable mention. $30 presale, $40 at the door. If you love the mansion party feel, this is your choice. We think the location of the pickup may be a negative because of traffic that night.
