Anti-Fighting Bylaw in FULL EFFECT
Fighting in Vancouver Will Cost You

Fighting on the streets of Vancouver could soon hit you where it hurts... in your wallet! The city wants to give police the option of fining people who get into fights. The system has been tried out in Edmonton and Victoria and has been given good reviews. The ballpark number being talked about for a first ticket is 250-dollars. City Hall staff will tinker with the details. City council passed the motion unanimously.

i mean, it sucks that things are essentially getting taxed for weird reasons.. but i dont really see why its a bad thing. unless some of you get into a lot of bar fights. ;)
maybe itll cut down on people fighting, or violence where it draws other people in and they get hurt? |

| what about if some jackass just wants a fight and comes upto you and starts fighting you, then you will get a fine and it wouldn't even of been your fault. |

oh man you cant even have some fun anymore in this city :)
this is kind of an weird idea, but it makes sense, cause all the punishments here boil down to monetary punishment for the person in question, be it speeding or vandalism or what not...
I can see the verdict being unfair lot of times because it might be hard sometimes to conlcude whose fault it is...
unless they make it that both parties have to pay regardless of who started it, which is again unfair like Prodigy mentioned |
