i would just like to say that alot of people on here talk about tiesto and really that guy is just a product of marketing .... he isnt that good .....and he is a jackass .. i saw him on year ago in calgary and the turntables broke down for a second and he threw a fit and ran off stage .... sorry but this guy is nothing special ...thats my opinion

I have to somewhat agree with you. The hype that is built up around his shows is a little much and ive seen him three times and he has trainwrecked every time But for someone who doesnt spin records i dont really think that they have an ear for it.

I do however think he is doing wonders for trance music in North America at the moment and giving it the exposer it needs right now.

P.S. A friend of mine from vancouver was talkin to him about canada and he said that he didnt like calgary anyways.

for those of us who have been fans of Tiesto for over 5 years he's no product of marketing at all. he might be a commercial asset for some people that only like him for his amazing charisma or Silence or some bull reason, but some of us actually admire him for his talent, his perfectly balanced trackselection, his in key contrast mixing (that no one else in trance can do), his Magik touch trademark and many many other characteristics that make him so unique. most people here don't like him because he's inconsistent and granted, has many flaws on the decks, but still no one in dutch trancedom has the artistic depth that he has. he's one of the few trance djs that i can stand, he doesn't play all that staid formulaic fluff that Ferry and Armin et. al are stuck with. I respect them as djs and producers too, but they're nowhere near Tiesto in terms of innovation and artistry. There's no comparison at all. I've seen Tiesto 6 times this year alone and I've only been marginally dissapointed once. I wouldn't pay more that 10 bucks to see Armin, Ferry or Oakenfold again though. Tiesto's music is catered for my taste, and no one as of yet can replace that #1 spot in my books.

I dont find any of armins new stuff "fluffy".

I think Tiestos talent is more base on his track selection rather then his mixing skills.
