Another night at Lush and another first for both myself and the Mighty, the debut of the one and only legend that is Carl Cox:-)
Col Hamilton began the proceedings with a set that I did not feel was up to his usual high standards although it did make the anticipation of Carl Cox's set that much greater. Carl Cox took to the turntables at 11:30, he was warmly welcomed by the Lush faithful. Carl immediately upped the tempo from Col Hamilton's set and began to work the capacity crowd into a frenzy. The dancefloor was absolutely packed and the atmosphere was electric, this has not been the case recently (you just can't beat Lush with a capacity crowd and a big guest DJ).
Carl Cox played for the next 2 and a half hours what I can only describe as one of the most uplifting yet constantly banging sets of techno that I have ever heard. The set truly was one of the best that I have heard and the crowd lapped up ever banging beat that was offered. The end of the night came all too quick and the atmosphere was taken up another notch with Carl Cox MC'ing at the end. I took this picture at the end of the night of the crowd going nutz.
