The Show is Saturday, July 5. This will be my first show where i'm specifically going to go see a DJ. I'm familier with Sasha's original music, but not too familier with his DJing skills. If anywon could let me know what the whole atmospeare is like for any major DJ or a Sasha specifially.
I will reply to this post after I go for sure to brag or bitch. |

| If you got the opportunity to see SASHA live, go there. This will be an incredible event...download an actual livemix of him so you can expect what will be the musical direction of the evening. |

If you're not too familiar with Sasha, be prepared for a crazy night were you basically have no idea whatsoever when songs are beginning or ending. It'll probably just sound like one huge song that morphs from housy noises to trancey sounds into break beats and on and on. It won't be an over the top, hands in the air atmosphere, but rather the energy level will wax and wane continuously.
Of course, by the end things usually get pretty wild. Last time I saw Sasha, in the fall of 2002, the energy just kept building and building slowly, and then with only fifteen minutes to go, I finally recognized a song. Midtone - Pearl followed by some crazy mix of Bedrock - Emerald and ending with "Cowpander". Those songs played after more than an hour and a half of building send shivvers down my spine just thinking about them even now. Have fun! |

Too much non-trance for a trance addict. I must say the tunes were average to my liking. Almost 4 hours of various house music is way too much for me. The first guy (Pheonix M) was on atleast two hours and the second guy (Jack Trash) was on for about 2.5 hours....All and all, i was pretty much bored by the time Sasha took the decks.
Cant really give you a tracklist or anything but the only tracks i recognized were from the first set.."greece 2000 (plastic angel remix)" and "madagascar (ferry corsten remix)"
Pretty much all this show did was get me hyped up for some better music when Armin comes to town next month. |

Wow, that reeks man. Opening DJs are there to set the tone, and if it's a DJ not to your liking, and can make the night really dull.
Luckily when Sasha was here the other day in San Fran, the opening DJs were both playing really hard stuff and the crowd got going pretty well....and then Sasha came on and the place just got crazier...it certainly wasn't the best night I've ever had, but it was awesome. Sasha can mix so damn well....one little hiccup the whole night...a record skipped a tad once...but that easily might not have been his fault.
Oh yeah....here's a tip. Don't get there right when the place opens when you are going to specifically see a DJ and you don't know much about the opening acts....the headliner is just about always going to start late. When I don't pre-order tickets, I will often get to the club at like 1am ... when I do pre-order, I get there between 11:00pm - 11:30pm (because here, if you aren't at the door by midnight you are not guaranteed entrance even if you pre-order). Sasha didn't start spinning here until 2:30am. |
