Nahh, They can't stop it! They'll have to adapt. "Survival of the fittest" situation all over again. Music industry will have to review it self and cut the megamillion dollar profits for a while or indefinetly. Maybe in future they'll have to stop releasing titles in CD medium and go completely digital with embedded digital rights managements etc to stop or minimize piracy.
Same things happening to movies as well but it seems to be the Movie industry is multipliying its profits on the contrary. Why????
(ps: i know the answer):D |

yes psygnosis smokes are addictive, but does one smoke or even one pack cost the same amount as one hit of heroin? no. Believe it or not the government, police and courts are there to protect and serve.
Except they are there for everyone, including record labels. |
The reason heroin costs so much is because its illegal. If they legalised it you could probably buy it for the same price as a packet of cigarettes. So by legalising heroin they would pretty much solve all crime problems caused by the drug. The government could also make a hell of a lot of money by taxing it.
The reason drugs are not legalised has nothing to do with money or crime really its more about the social and health costs of drug use, particularly for children, and also just about just the stigma and reputation of drugs and the fact that the people who use drugs dont really have any power in society.
Of course corporations do have power thats why music piracy is being targetted |

movie file size are far larger and harder to distribute than mp3s, and people have the mean to have decent systems at home to play it on instead of having to go watch it on a huge screen in the movies.

yes i made the point (with out why they dont do it) in a previous post. I am in total agreeance, if the government could control the flow and sell it for a cheap price a lot of social problems would vanish, however they would be replaced by more. |
