Australian DJ plays at the opening of Space in Ibiza
Sunday 1st June 2003 saw the first Australian DJ to Play at the Opening of Ibiza's most infamous club Space. Villeneuve took pole position whipping the crowd into a frenzy as he opened for Carl Cox and John Digweed, who played a four hour back to back set in the DJ Magazine arena.
It's becoming a habit for Villeneuve to open for Carl Cox -they recently returned from the re-opening of Italys most famous club Angels of Love (Naples) where the two DJed to a capacity crowd of 7,500 people.
Raised in Perth, Western Australia, Villeneuve moved to the UK six years ago to further pursue his DJing, taking him into the international arena. After starting his career as a Gothic/Alternative DJ he soon caught the House bug and made the cross-over. Villeneuve, who used the moniker Dougie Vee back on home turf, was responsible for some of the most memorable club nights Perth has seen including Aqua, James Street and the legendary Sunday Session at the Leaderville.
