hey while they are at it, why not change the ing coat of arms as well?

Changing the Union Jack CANT happen. Its not like the US confederate flag which out and out stands for a racist view. The union jack isnt used by the KKK as a symbol of their unity. It unites countries. And unless thoese no longer exists, they CANT change the flag. I will bomb the out of whoever tries to.

How exactly is a FLAG multicultural? does it depict white, yellow, black brown and red people standing together? does it have symbolism of many different cultures together(like the olympic flag linking all 5 continents)
Yes the new flag is quite snazzy..I like the black. Its a good design, but there is no ing way that it will replace the Union Jack.
argh why do I check the english section, now im mad.

What is the point of all this?!

I'm vietnamese by blood, British by Nationality. I was born here and i've been raised in a Western manner.

I'm proud to be British. I've intergrated with the main culture here (English) and i work and pay taxes. So do my parents.

My parents were refugees from the Vietnam war and came here in 1983. Obviously the government gave them a helping hand, but they were very quick to distance themselves from handouts and earn their keep themselves. We are proud to be british, as our adopted country has treated us well, and in return, we treat it, and its citizens well.

My parents are not liking the current government at the moment. As a middle class family earning about 50K gross household income, they are hit the hardest by all these tax reforms. and its been steadily getting worse. working class people get more handouts, and rich people aren't really affected by anything.

The asylum issu eis a strong one for them, mainly because, they too were once in those shoes. They strongly resent illegal asylum seekers for many reasons.
1) if the country was so bad that you had to leave, then you would be glad to come across the 1st friendly country, why is there a need to move on?
2) If you're going to stay here, be greatful for what you have and at least integrate into the society which has accepted you.

There have been many stories about asylum seekers complaining that their 3 bedroom semi-detached house isn't big enough, they don't have enouhg money, and they are always asking for more. Surely they should be greatful, since they are getting everything free? or really by the taxpayer?

Of course i'm sure that some asylum seekers WILL take advantage of our society , for the better. I'm sure many will get an education, get a good job and eventually contribute to British life. However, those few people's acheivements will be overshadowed by the overall majority of asylum seekers, living as parasites on our great country.

theres my rant and rave. And don't change the flag dammit!

Amen to that!

im not sure what they are trying to achive by suggesting we change the flag, let alone actually doing it. surely it wont make ne significant differences to the way things are in this counrty??

unfortunately in this land of democracy we dont have too much of a say in it really.

tbh i dont think the flag will get changed.
