what a in night!!!!! i went to the lotus lounge with my fellow TA buddies raverdikkkkk, vanfecto, and numb3rjuan. we were all right in the front!! I was really feeellin his set, but i wasnt feelin the club at all..
it was actually pretty bad. They had the monitor speaker on top of a in cooler and a piece of rolled up carpet. ghetto??? right after icarus, mauro jumped on tha tables at like 12:30 and i could tell he wasnt satisfied with the place at all..
i took my crw - i feel love vinyl, and he signed it, and raverdikkkkk made a sign that said COLDFUNK, and right when he pulled it out, he played it...
i took the paper sleeve of the vinyl and wrote "release coldfunk" on it and showed it to him, he looked at it and smiled, so hopefully it'l werk..

I just got back from there.. and all i can say about that is.. "GAY ASS ". I mean from mauro's performance.. it was really great... but you can tell he wasnt having a great time. haha at least i got to shake his hand and got him to sign my cell phone =P haha. Other than that... he played COLDFUNK!!! omg i dieeee haha it was great. there were also some great tracks he was spinnin but couldnt id them at the time. Kid icarus was there as well.. it was great watching him. Me and my friends left after mauro got off stage. We were tired as fuk. ANYWAY.. if Mauro Picotto is reading this.. we're terribly sorry for giving you the first impression that the Houston crowd is boring.. you just played at a sorry gay place. DONT EVER PLAY AT THE LOTUS LOUNGE... EVER!! I'll post pics of the event as soon as i get the chance. Laters m8's.

| Last night the Lizard Man himself decided to grace Texas let alaone the city of Houston with his presence. The review doesnt do justice to the travesty that was The North American Tour (Houston's Section). Ok were talking aobut the number 5 dj in the world and these asses were no where near prepared. Number one we got there at 11:10 we were 10 mins late so they charged us 10 dollars more. Ok we put that behind us. We walk in and Kid Icarus is spinning a local Tx dj, I saw him at Meltdown 4 iwht PvD, pretty bad ass set. So hes a great opening act. The stage was set for a good night, but then Mauro is an hour late and his 4 hour set on 4 tables turns into 3 hours on 2 decks. When Mauro arrives he immediately notices the horrible position of the monitor, he asks for it to be elevated. Can you guess how they achieved it? The put it on top of a cooler on a chair with a blanket in between and some one holding it up. After 10 mins of pleading Mauro says it, and begins, then he breaks out the cigsand u know from there hes only putting in minimal effort. We wrote a sign to him saying " this club sux" and he laughed and nodded in agreement. So hes spinning and sets getting better then, my friend and I break out the Coldfunk sign and he immediately plays it, the crwod goes nuts!! Then we write him a message saying Let Me Have It!! He just laughs and nods his head no. He dropped another bomb after that as well, which when i asked what it was he merely pointed to him self. I could tell that Mauro lost interest he checks his watch and he was doin next to no equalizer effects, but then again the crowd deserved they dwindled to nothing after 2 30 hours, on his last song he extended his hand to me as to say thanx for being the only brightspot in the night because we stayed right there the entire 3 hours and kept him company, and that was the end to a horrible night, atmospheric wise, but music wise was decent. Houston SUX , LOTUS LOUNGE SUX, THEY SHOULDVE KNOWN BETTER, THEY SHOULDVE BEEN BETTER PREPARED, THEY DROPPED THE BALL, AND SUBSEQUENTLY HOUSTON WILL PAY FOR IT, NO ONE WILL EVER COME HERE AGAIN, AS THEY SHOULDNT, SHAME ON HOUSTON, ITS UP TO DALLAS NOW!! |

what the hell are you guys talking about? the club was AWESOME! the system was bangin, Mauro was having a blast, and the crowd was terrific.
...... NOT.
it was absolutely ridiculous. i am now ashamed to be a resident of Houston.
but on the other hand it was cool being a foot away from Mauro watching his entire set up close and personal. i have to admit, Mauro is definitely a cool ass guy. he must have signed hundreds of autographs during his set and was happy to sign anything for anyone. im sure any other dj would have been irritated as hell but not Mauro.
oh and when he wasnt looking i stole his Coldfunk CD-R and i am selling it for $1,000,000,000. Anyone interested? :crazy: |
