I just got confirmation today that my partner Suzy Solar will be performing at Club Sessions in Medellin, Colombia on May 23rd,2003. Stay tuned for some killer pics and a field report about the music scene down there.

Hey man thanks for the kind words. If you wanted to see Suzy at Rise, you should of went to last years party Rise 1 at the Volusia County fairgrounds. She was one of the headliners. Her and I both played on the Sunday of that event. The problem with last years event was the city laws that made the 2 day event close at 2am on the Saturday night of the party. The promoters had to stop the music for 4 hours until 6am Sunday morning. Unfortunetly the bulk of the crowd left during this period. I also heard that the police were giving the people who stayed at the event during this shutdown time, some problems. Another issue I had with the first Rise party was that the room that hosted the trance had no AC, and during late May in Florida, AC is a must!!! Besides that I had a good time, i even have some of it on video. The promoter from Mindchime productions is a very cool person and I wish him all the luck in the world with this event. If you see him, please tell him that we said hello and also tell him that you would have liked to have seen us at his event. It is cool to see that someone is still trying to throw big/rave type events in Florida. I think this years party will be better than last years because it will be at a different location.
If you want to hear trance, check out sets by DJ Trancelott and Mindchime himself. Also be sure to be careful this time and try to avoid the police. I would advise doing any extraciricular things before you got into this event.

Thanks for the advice! I'm hoping that there won't be hundreds of plainclothed pigs(ok, I'm a little bitter) at this event like there was at Ultra.
If I get to meet Mindchime I'll tell him you and Suzy said hey! And thanks for telling me which Trance DJs to check out. I know of alot of DnB/Breaks DJs my friends wanna see, but I've gotta find some good Trance. They better have A/C in the Trance arena this time!
Wish I would have known about Rise1! I would have been there...I'm sure I'll be at Rise3, if there is one. Oh well, I'll see you guys at events over the summer I'm sure!:D |
