Well, it's obvious that it's coming out for PS2 since word on the net says that whoever leaked this trailer got a letter from Sony. Word is also going around saying that it will infact see a multiplatform release; either same time as the PS2 release, or after.

Enjoy :)

"Snake Eater"....*SNICKER*....looks dope. i cant believe the ps2 is capable of those graphics. i doubt that it will be a simultaneous multiplatform release though. ps2's got first crack at it.

The Trailer looks amazing. The scene where he eats the snake made me laugh and I thought it was a good touch. as for Ps2 having first cracks on it I wouldnt really go on that cause rumor had it microsoft had payed konami a lot of money and have MGS3 come out for the xbox first.

Konami
Castlevania (tentative title) (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (GC, PS2)

*sigh* here is a list of games that will be at e3. as you can clearly see, the ps2 version of MGS3 is going to be shown. so, i actually WOULD "go on that."

RUMOR = FALSE:)

but then again, gamespot could be wrong.

MS pitching at Konami for MGS3 exclusivity? hehe, very unlikely. Sounds like something an Xboxer would say to keep his hopes up.

It's certain that this will come out for PS2; as well as other platforms. Just like Substance, it's more than likely that Konami will release something like that for the Xbox/Cube a few months after the original release.

As for the title and him eating the snake; Snake Eater is a term used by the US army for it's marines who are trained to survive. When you're in a jungle, they dont have McDonalds waitin for ya so you can fill up :p lol Oh, and that isn't Snake in the video, in case any of you are wondering. :)

As for the PS2 handling these graphics; it's a slight improvement over MGS2. It's running on the same engine and the guys at Konami are talented developers so it's no surprise they're pulling this off on the PS2. Oh ya, and Twin Snakes is a remake of MGS1 running on a modified MGS2 engine for the Cube :D

lol...obviously...hahaha....

anyway...this looks very promisin...les hope there is more stuff that 'leaks' out...lol...u kno it could be just a publicity stunt from Sony or Konami to release a trailer like this to show they are makin somethin great...and to have people start savin up their money...lol...

one popular opinion following e3 is that the game will be a prequel to the series, and im holding out hope that this isnt true, but whatever. i dunno for sure if the character is big boss or snake, but i personally doubt that they would throw big boss in there. but then again, anything that's said about the game's plot is pure speculation, so i guess we'll have to see.

id like to know what exactly makes you think that the guy in the video is not snake?:conf:

He mentioned that the graphics engine used for Sons of Liberty was not suitable for such a game, as the environments are almost completely indoors. So, almost as test, his team created a completely new graphics engine for Snake Eater that would feature outdoor environments.

i got this article HERE. it would seem that you were misinformed about mgs3 running on the same engine.

also fyi, its been confirmed HERE that mgs3 will be released for the ps2 exclusively in 2004. the other consoles will probably get it with added features like a year later or something.

the opinion that i believed that it wasn't Snake was based on the short trailer that was leaked. In that one, it really looks like he doesn't have a right eye like Big Boss. I guess I was wrong though and it was in fact just the shadows.

As for it coming on other consoles; it was a given that it's coming to PS2 first. But it's more than likely that a MGS3 "Substance" will follow on other consoles.

And the graphic engine...yea, I didn't read that article but after I saw the full length trailer, I started to rethink whether it's the same engine cause of the complexity of the jungle. Truly incredible game, I hope it comes to Cube sooner or later cause I don't have a PS2.

edit i'm also really looking forward to Twin Snakes. The original Metal Gear Solid is one of my all-time fav's, so I'm really excited about playing it over again, with beautiful graphics. And I'm curious to know if there's anything new in it, or if it's just a straight remake.
