Oi! I'll agree to that.. Too tired for a full review, but the party was amazing, and the TAs were in full force..

More tomorrow...

I didn't think that Fleming would be able to top Orkidea. I was wrong. The Finn started off energetically, but 1/2 and hour into his set, got too light and melodic. The acid synthlines made for powerful dancing. The intense Goa tracks by Fleming pounded me into submission. Deko-ze was off, not the same impact he had after Tiesto, or at NYE. Things were on the mashy side at the rear bar, but tons of energy on the dancefloor, and the best laser system in Toronto.

Went to the Zone after wards. Three observations:
1. The place is a huge sausage fest. I thought I was at a circuit party.

2. They have no competition in Toronto. What kind of connections do you need to run an after-afterhours? There IS a marketplace for another sketchpad.

3. The place was packed -no room on the dancefloor. It was Guv-packed.

Met the following: Flec (lay off next time), Hardcore Trancer (straightedgers rule), TrancExstasy (Do you work out? LOL, Sober 24-7 (more straightedge making me feel about two inches tall), Mot10n (I'm gonna mount that rock and give it to my wife), Halo20. I didn't bother with the meetup; I just jabbered people's ears off if they came to rest near me

Never had so many people ask me for 'directions' in the club. Maybe it was the dayglo wallet chain.

yes sick sick sick

Orkidea killed as usual

very happy with his set. That guy knows what he's doing.

except im not too sure about what happened toward the end of his set, but he seemed to have lost it for a bit there.

*ORIGINAL POST HAS BEEN EDITED FOR ADDED SHOUTOUTS*

k..lets do this in chronological fashion:

9:05pm: infinity_high meets up with me carrying our bottle of colt 45 in mississauga

9:10pm: Reach coffee time where we were to meet Ninjapimp

9:15pm: Ninjapimp arrives in ninjapimped out ride

9:30pm: steal tickets from Kati for me, Sage2635 and ningjapimp

9:35.36pm: We head to Countrystyle for meetup

10:12pm: We get lost on highway

10:21pm: Finnally reach countrystyle for meetup

10:26pm: head to wendy's for food (thank god we ate or id be drunk)

10:45pm: wait outside countrystyle again for allan and meet more TAs, then take huge group pic.

10:52pm: everyone dispatches to viva. we turnback to countrystyle to wait for sage2635

10:56pm: Sage calls and says hes at viva already so we head there

11:02pm: meet sage, we all walk in

11:07pm: LKD's keychain is confiscated at door by security

11:08pm - 12:15am: partied with lots of drinks and TAs

12:16pm: ORKIDEA CAME ON.......

so orkidea who i didint know much about started goin wild throwing tunes like U2 - staring at the sun to which i started a clap (like during most of his set) with the rest of viva goin along.

i went wild when he dropped Emerge and Lonliness....omg..he was killin me (Endlesswave style)

kept shaking his hand during the set and once he got off, i told him that i was thee dude shaking his hand to which we had a little laugh about. I also got me in a pic with him and ummm..ya he rocked

2:30am: J00F came on

all i gotta say is....

NOBODY TOLD ME HE WOULD GO PSY...

LKD's quote the rest of the night "OMG HE WENT PSY"

i was dead then....he dropped alot of tracks i didnt know..for that matter..almost everything was unknown to me....

goin crazy to his start of psy i looked at my hand and found it shiny..looked under some light and i had a deep cut on 2 of my fingers. i guess it was from jumping up and down like an idiot next to the dj cage

15 minutes later i ended up throwing my bloody tissue at flemming..how rude of me but it was an accident i swear......

i cant imagine what he mightve thought.."hmm a tissue with blood..thrown hereon my decks..hmmmm"

unfortunately as long as i was there J00F didnt come out after his set so i couldnt meet him ....probably the next time tho

Ninjapimp, Infinity_high and i left soon after, i got home at about 6:10, at some food and went to bed and got up about an hour or so ago

Frankly, I wasn't expecting much from this party... Boy was I wrong!

Orkidea was absolutely amazing. J00F started a bit slow, but then picked up towards the end of his set - the last 45 minutes of his set were absolutely unreal. Deko-ze was allright, played some awesome tracks, though could be a bit better. Hartec came out last and banged it out - it was amazing!

Overall, musicwise probably not the best party I've ever been to. Partywise, however, it was the best party I've attended since Picotto @ System in October. The vibe created by TAs is so great! Thanks to everyone who made this night a memorable one for me - you know who you are!

So, I'm now all the way back in K-town having had zero sleep and no time to crash until tomorrow, but I just have to say...

Wow.

- Orkidea was... indescribable. I've heard many of his sets and tracks before but I never would have expected it to be that good up front. AWESOME.
- As stated by LKD, Flemming (that's two "m"s not one, right folks?) went PSY halfway through! w00t! Didn't think he'd be any competition for Orkidea but man, was I wrong. Two TOTALLY sick sets in a row!
- Deko-Ze impressed me with the second half of his set, too. Dunno if he was off for the first half, never seen him spin before then, but I enjoyed everything I can remember from about 5:30 onward, when I got my second wind.
- Unfortunately didn't get to stay for much of Hartec, since I caught the shuttle back home.

Oh, and it was great to meet SO many of you face to face all at once. My apologies to those who were exposed to my horrific in-club conversational/listening skills (including but not limited to Durafei, drewfactor, and another very cute TA who I kept randomly ending up beside but never actually discerned the name because I was trying not to drive her crazy by asking for 12 repetitions of every sentence. So if you're wondering why I stopped talking to you, it's 'cause I was deaf at the time. )

Anyway, once again, SUPER OUTSTANDING AWESOME party, has definitely inspired me to go to MORE parties, although perhaps I will bring earplugs next time I go to Viva.

FYI- earplugs are available at coat check. I forgot mine & scored a pair there.

Still too killed to put the thoughts into words....
That was one serious party with amazing TA turnout!!!!!!
WELL DONE, EVERYONE!

Orkidea OWNS!!!!!! I recognized 2 tracks during his entire set, his mixing was flawless, & I think I may even have enjoyed him as much as (if not more than) Hardwick's set... That's saying a lot.

to be continued.....

The sets were amazing! ii agree, BUT the atmoshpere was so SHIT! i dont understand how u guys liked it...i mean it was fun and everything but there was at least 50% of the dance floor filled with 30 year old chinese women and some men just standing around..literally and looking around..i hated it..last party ive been too was misstress barbara and its incomparable to this.. u guys from trance addict were mostly in the front ..if the whole dance floor was filled with guys like u then it would be 100000 times more amazing..but unfortunately it wasnt..it was filled with chinese cocain addicts...
overall i give it..8/10 for music
6/10 for atmosphere
