Ableton Live question

I have my Ableton installed to (D) hard disc. When I drag my music (which is also stored in (D) into Ableton to mix them, Ableton doesn't allow me to do so but once I copy the tracks to (C) disc Ableton identifies them and the problem disappears. Can anyone advise why this happens? Can't I just play my tracks from D disc?

You mean you can't drag and drop? Windows? You may be running Ableton in Admin mode. Windows explorer can't drop into programmes ran in Admin mode. Either don't run it as admin or do as Tehlord said.
