The games are again in full effect, and I don't mean no petty Olympics, but the 96th incarnation of the glorious TranceAddict forums' ID Contest!
There are 60 samples, each 15 seconds long, so it only takes 15 minutes to listen through them. The average year for the samples is 2007, I tried to chose a mix of not too obvious and not too obscure tracks.
Without further ado, here are the well known rules, somewhat abbreviated:
Identify as many of the samples as possible, send your answers, or educated guesses, as PM's to me at any time and at any rate.
Completely correct answer (artist name, track name and mix name correct) earns you 3 points, partial answers 2 or 1 point.
This time around I included some mashups, the points for those will be judged case by case, but maximum is also 3 points for them.
Hints will be given when deemed necessary, both personal ones to good guess and public ones later on for unidentified tracks.
And the winner is! Eh... let's wait until the deadline for that.
So, slow start (as has been the rule for that last year), but let's hope we see some more action soon.
DJ Tsunami 9
IN_RAINBOWS takes the lead with 29% of the maximum points, so there's still much room for improving upon his score. DJ Tsunami makes a more modest entry, but is still the first runner up in the contest.
Remember, sending in answers does not take a long time. No need to be shy just because you only know a handful, there might be someone else who knows about as much that you can compete with.
IN_RAINBOWS 57 (+4)
DJ Tsunami 19 (+10)
Incredibly enough both of the new entries land on the same amount of points, taking a shared lead, pushing IN_RAINBOWS to third and DJ Tsunami off the medal places. However, they both improve their score, DJ Tsunami even doubling his.
IN_RAINBOWS 4 Tresor73
A very tight game in the uniques, though usually someone bombs away the uniques sooner or later.
