these categories aren't mutually exclusive... I would have voted yes for the top three (and its possible to have them all in a society)

Any educated, honest person knows that cannabis ought to be legalized: taxed and regulated in a manner similar to alcohol. It is the only approach that will successfully i) eliminate the vast majority of harms associated with the marijuana criminal black market, ii) reduce the outrageous spending on the enforcement of drug laws that do not decrease supply or demand of the drug, iii) generate huge amounts of new income through taxation, and iv) encourage the production of the purest, safest, and cheapest forms of cannabis.

I don't mind if marijuana/soft drugs were to be decriminalized, however, if this were to happen, I'd like to see us follow the new dutch model and keep it exclusive to citizens of this country, not American marijuana tourists.

I just hope Toronto doesn't become what Amsterdam has, and hopefully the new laws change that. I think Amsterdam is an incredible city and has so much interesting history and fantastic people. However, as soon as you walk out of centraal station, all you see is headshop after headshop, and cafe after cafe. Throw in thousands of pretentious american teenagers running around everywhere trying to get as baked as possible, and it just really rubs me the wrong way. I'm all for the decriminalization and possibly legalization of soft drugs, but I don't want to see this city turn into a paradise for drug tourism, even if it means a few extra bucks for our governments.
