To ALL the people who hate progressive MUST READ !!!!

You all blame that its fucking crap etc.

There were so many thread about cheesy tracks etc. You laughing out people because they like Ian van Dahl etc...
Everyone does here dont pretend you didn't, I did too.
But think about this:
You blame them because they are n00bs to trance, they start to listen to it, they like it very much, JUST BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW BETTER, it all has to grow onto them over a period of months, years before they really know what is good.
But lets go back too the progressive haters now.
Well people who like progressive think JUST THE SAME WAY ABOUT YOU GUYS, yeah you and you who read this thread. U JUST DONT KNOW ANY BETTER, you like hard(trance) etc....because u'r a rookie to trance, not a n00b but a rook (no offence to anyone here). You're not open for progressive just as people who listen to dance and cheese are not YET open for "real trance"
Just keep in mind we think exactly the same about you guys, like you guys think about people who listen to cheesy tracks.
Well by saying this U maybe got the point what I'm trying to say.
You laugh with people who like cheese, progressive fans laugh exactly the same with you. Now u know how it feels...
One day u will maybe understand what im saying....

Stand still for a second to what I said and try to place you in a progressive fan.

No flame here I think I made a great point here so intelligent replies are welcome, don't talk bullshit now.

Yeah, you make a good point but I don't think people are suddenly going to refrain from talking like that just because you say they shouldn't. You really do have to have an open mind to like progressive but for some, its just not they're taste and thats cool. Some people feel more strongly about certain genres than others and will bash other genres and say the one(s) they like are better. Sure, it's immature...but it's hard to do much about it.

I agree about the 'cheese' thing too. There is way too much talk of 'cheese' and how certain productions are 'cheesy', etc. Some people happen to like this music and they have a right to, they themselves probably know it's commercial and cheesy but they still listen to it. People jump to quickly to flaming people I think. If you hate 'cheesy' productions, ok...think that, but don't run around posting in threads saying it.

I personally find progressive to be a genre of extremes. There are some prog tunes that I absolutely love to bits, and enjoy just as much as any trance, but then there are those tunes that bore to me tears, literally

It comes back to the fact that too many producers seem to think that a meloday-less tune is progressive, which is a shame because melody-less tunes are crap, imo

Well, I'm not a big Progressive fan, I'm not listening to it often.

I can't create a clear opinion about the Progressive-scene because I don't know much about it.

But what I want to say is, when I hear some Progressive, it's good quality! Especially Seaman, Sasha, Chris Fortier and John Digweed.

Like the other genres of electronica, prog. has its good and bad productions. What I have found is that I'm becoming more and more influenced by prog., and have started to shy away from the so-called cheese and hard trance that I once used to listen to when I first got into the scene. Seems that a good prog. house and tribal DJ can just reverberate your body with that deep base at 4 AM a lot better than the cheesy synth. lines that other popular trance DJ's seem to produce.

However, it's hard not to pop in some hard trance in my car now and then, turn up the stereo, and nod my head until it falls off. I also could never shy away from PVD. For some reason, he just knows how to keep my interest in trance, even though he can be a little cheesy at times as well. I have yet to take his Rosenmontag rave 2002 out of my car since Feb.

I never used to like progressive but lately I've goten into it. I'll admit that it takes an advanced ear to listen to it though...it's kinda weird how things go in this genre. Most of us start by listening to cheesy eurodance and move to the typical trance and then you advance to progressive.

Check my title I'm Big progressive fan at heart. I mainly like the danceable Progressive Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman and ofcourse Sasha play. Progressive just like Techno is something you have to learn, you cant just step into it straight away. You learn to appreaciate it bit by bit.

3 Years ago I hated progressive, but as my musicall tatse evolved I slowly discovered that progrssive is a style that last longer than the normal "uplifting trance anthem". The thing about those kind of uplifting tunes is that they are amazing in the beginning, but they lose their touch after you keep on jamming that same sound every day. Progressive, on the other hand is deeper, groovyer and simply last longer IMO.

I still love uplifiting trance though, the best combination is ofcourse combine progressive and trance together. I also like other styles like Techno, Breakbeats, Electro and many others

I am not a trance lover, Im am a electronic music lover! (Yeah I know its PvDs Line!)
