Really enjoyed both of these sets this month.
Lews' mix flowed nicely. Some great stuff here, RATM were definitely a big influence on myself back in the days where I was playing in a few different rock/alternative bands. I just love how creative Tom Morello is with the axe. Nice progression through the hip-hop/rap stuff into trance and prog. Also dropping some other faves like Stage One, I Have Put Out The Light and Twilo Thunder. Great stuff mate.

Lil, very interesting. I liked how you approached this, dug into some early obscurities that aren't so well known (well to me at least). The only track I recognised here was 99.9 from Koenig Cylinders. I'll always welcome a mix with older tunes I'm not familiar with so thanks for sharing this, proper classic stuff.

Ian, I really like your mix...as I like all of your mixes. It feels like a reeeeeally good "normal" mix though instead of like a classics mix. You and I talked about this, the track selection doesn't "feel" like "your" classics. I think after listening to you for so many years, I would hear more of the tracks that you've played over and over so many times on ourboard radio or ukta radio... again, thanks for putting this together so quickly... obviously motivating me to get Part II of the "TAs share their Classics" going.

Lews, I really like your mix. Thank you so much for sharing your classics. If I put together my own "share my classics" set, I would have included the Vangelis track for sure and probably the Bedrock Mix of Cowgirl; I think maybe I would have picked a different Shpongle track. You know, I have to say, your selection just worked so well from start to finish.

But on subsequent trips back to England and Europe after I moved to Australia I always made a point of trying to get hold of some of those little gems of electronic music from the early 90s and drag back to this godforsaken, poisonous hellhole of a country where I've lived on and off for close to 20 years when I wasn't travelling or working overseas. Australia had its own comparatively decent electronic music scene all through the 90s as well, but for this particular mix I chose a lot of English and European artists. That era where people dragged out their music machines and made stuff you could go nuts too, a lot of this is fairly much as underground as electronic music could get and "things" like SP23/Spiraltribe and Curley I doubt we'll see the likes of again. I put a couple of early trance tracks at the start just so that those of us old enough to remember what trance was like before all the Armins, PVD's, Tiesto's and other subsequent high profile wankers choked it to death. Dont get it in your head for a minute the rest of the set is like those two! Oh no, the rest of this mix is a rolling barrage of floor smashing, sub-bass destroying old school goa and underground techno full of much abused drum machines, screaming raw 303s that only played in raves and nightclubs that didn't suck. No one else would touch it, no hits on Saturday morning TV or your friendly local top-40 radio went near it because it was listened and danced to by lunatics that took lots and lots... and lots of drugs! I live vicariously off my memories as I get older and settle into suburban obscurity, it saddens me that EDM has become so commercialised to the point of stagnation, even if there is a second coming for this type of music I doubt I'd have anything to do with it because I'd just look silly at my age and probably on a walking stick.

I really enjoyed this set, Lilith. It is indeed a Bonus. Thanks for all of the effort and hard work to put it together.

we're waiting patiently for our june 2011 set, hopefully our featured t.a. will post his share soon. i logged into the echo of silence account earlier to see if he had sent bad news, but there's no message. i'm really looking forward to his contribution, i know echo is too, have always enjoyed his opinions and posts!!
