I finished reading Oakenfold's book last week (really recommended read if you can pick it up), where it talks about his career from the very beginning right through to him producing film scores.
In his days of being a resident at Cream where he played every week, he played the exact same set, and would only add in one or two new tunes each time. That was one of the absolute magical periods of trance, but there's not a chance in hell he would have been able to do it if the internet and online radio shows were so prominent.
Then you have situations where if you have a hot new production, it's recorded by someone live in a club and it's on YouTube the next day for everyone to see.
Sign of the times I guess.
See "Go Fast" from last year. For one of the few times it was a tune Armin managed to keep under wraps for nearly a year then some punk photographed the CDJ at the DJ mag party and he was forced to play it on ASOT the week after because of the leak lol.
Anyway, pleasure talkin mate. Will see everyone again soon for another STATE OF TRANCE!
