Heheh, that looks like a cheesy CD with a few good fillers. Love the 90s though!!! Yeah, the sound was massive in UK. I got hooked on the genre from Armand's remixes mostly

this mix was pretty bumpin'. some iffy transitions, but whatever. I remember listening to this stuff when i was a kid, never knew it was called garage tho |
I didnt think my mixing was that bad here ... some of the tracks were quite different, hence the transityions weren't always sound-to-sound.
Yeah, I bet you did listen to that stuff in the 90s!!! In Toronto area, Energy 108 pumped lots of those tunes during their legendary live-to-air ... oh I miss those

Love it! I used to DJ Garage (albeit before it became speed garage) back in the UK.
Can't listen right now but I have to say that tracklist is far more house (or should I say funky house) than garage.
The only tracks I'd consider Garage are 4,5,6, and 11. The rest were all funky house. Camisra, Todd Terry and Sandy B are all certainly house trax.
Speed Garage to me was tracks like Judy Cheeks - reach and spin, Never Let you go, What you want etc.
I'd say this is more a house n' garage set (as they used to say) |
Thanks for ruining it! Well, they are considered to be garage ... whether UK or Speed Garage. If you listened to the tracks, they all share that same special garage sound, that sexy bassline - I think you know what I am talking about. I love that sound. Some are more housey than others though - you're right.
Keep it oldskool!!!
