Lens > camera body, IMO. Is the lens you're referring to the Nikon equivalent of Canon's L series lenses?

I don't know, there are about 4 of them and I know nothing about cameras, as a possible present for someone that sort of knows about cameras.

Call your landlord, and move anything that doesn't like water away from where it's leaking. Maybe use a saucepan to catch the drips, in place of a bucket.
