See Sushi, I am not totally dormant! Went out this morning to take a walk along the waterfront and took the camera along to hunt some trains. Easy hunting this morning!
Caught the Coast Starlight on its run out of Tacoma this morning to Olympia/Lacey, on route to Los Angeles.
The train on the left in the above pic is sitting in the hole waiting to go through the Pt. Defiance tunnel, it had been there for 20 minutes or so when I took these photos. Two trains had already passed it heading the opposite direction of the Starlight. The engine shown is the rear engine.
Stepped in 6 inches of mud at this little park back in the woods.
Another two trains pass the guy in the hole...
Decided to drive up to a spot right by the signal and take a look. About 2 minutes after getting there a north-bound Cascades commuter came barreling through at full speed.
... and shortly after the guy got on his way.
Good shots this morning, and I got a 10 minute audio recording of the guy in the hole idling and spooling up. I love the sound of diesel electrics.
