In all honesty and this is to answer Stu too, I dunno why, I guess it's cos couples look good when the girl is level to or less than his height. I won't mind anyone within an inch or so of it, so maybe 5'10 but the 5'11 one was weird enough.

Wooooo just got home from a dance party - haven't partied since late Nov so it was good to get into the swing again

Also on topic, the girl I was with is like exactly my height (170cm) but with heels is taller than me. At first I was like hmmmmm, but then I got over it. My preference is shorter though.
