O, man I'm not in Afgahnistan.
In any case, regardless of location, I've been away from a lot of things for six months; and have been under some crappy leadership. Zewad's going to chew my ass for being upset with my location and the perks we have (a pool, a bar, not getting shot at). but none of that really makes a difference if the people you work for are assholes and the stuf you do doesn't make a difference in the grand scheme of the War that's going on. I've never felt so useless, hopeless, and just disappointed in my job. Plus I had two shitty roommates, a troop who tried to kill herself, and just a lot of other things that just made work (and life) miserable.
I can't wait to get back home. Of course, I still count my blessings...if life had gone as originally planned (me going to Kabul for a year), I'd actually be dead right now (the weather officer was shot and killed a few months ago and that was supposed to be my position). So I try not to complain.
I really hope my next deployment is a whole lot better than this one.
