That I don't know. Dry socket happens when the blood clot comes out too early leaving the nerve exposed. That can happen a lot easier when you're sucking in through a straw or cigarette because you create a vacuum in your mouth that can just pop them out. Not sure if the wet gauze will prevent that, it might. Maybe call your dentist/surgeon and ask?
I tried calling him twice and no answer, I left a message and waiting for a call back.
I had 2 cigarettes since yesterday (trust me it took a colossal effort not to have more), and I was extremely careful, smoking on the opposite side of my mouth through clenched teeth in short breaths, rather that hard drags. It hasn't disrupted the blood clots so far, but I read that we can only know by the fourth day if we get it or not.
I am so scared I'm gonna shit myself. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
