Much lower response time (lcds are rated from 2-12 ms...most are 5-8. Plasmas take nanoseconds). The better black levels reduce black crush, so you don't have to crank the brightness up to 95 to see somebody in a cave, like you do on other sets.
As long as you get a decent set and are using it as an actual tv from time to time, you're fine. It's almost impossible to burn an image into a modern plasma (especially Panasonics). You'd have to leave it there for a few weeks straight with the settings jacked up for it to be an issue.

exactly. ordinary people using ordinary TV usage won't have an issue with burning images.
although i'm convinced that years of playing Super Mario brothers bruend a permanent "ground" line on my zenith tube TV that mario would run on. LOL.

I've played for 12+ hours straight (I know) on my Elite before, with no issues. ESPN accounts for about 75% of my viewing, and I don't have the crawl bar at the bottom burned in.

Oh noes, shit is going down on the internets... apparently someone on youtube thought it would be a good idea to delete the channel from the one and only Boxxy and the b/tards are livid.
