Glandular fever. Got given the rest of this week and the next week off work. It's a virus so they can't give me much to help it, just tonnes of vitamins and apparently a high carb, low protein diet for a month to let my liver recover.
Epic fail!
Lolz, i had that a few years ago, lasted MONTHS, then turned into fucking chronic fatigue syndrome... all up took about a year to get back to full energy lvls and shit
good luck, try do exercise and shit so you don't get CFS like i did

I will, but not in the next couple of weeks. Just need rest now.
Strangely enough, a mate of mine at school developed CFS after he had EBV, so same as you

My liver is totally shot, levels way above normal. My white blood cells are all over the shop, virus has practically destroyed my bone marrow so I need to be careful not to catch anything else.
In other news, my cholesterol levels are fucking awesome. I couldn't suffer a stroke or heart attack if I wanted to
Also, my boss is awesome. She's like "Eh, don't worry about training next week, when you get around to doing it you most likely won't need it anyway so don't even think about it. Just stay home and rest, work stuff can be sorted later".
good news about the cholestorol. bad news about mono. all i can tell you is that drink LOTS of fluids. i know it hurts to swallow (lol); but you've gotta do it. i wasn't drinking enough and ended up getting put in the hospital on an IV drip after i started vomiting up blood.
also, protect your spleeeeeeeen!
i never got cfs; i was just in a whole of pain in my throat. the tiredness came about week 3; and by week 4 i was in the hospital and whatever the fuck was in that IV drip got me better.

yeah sorry, i meant down the line
CFS= EPIC lose.
really distorted reality for me for a while. Interesting experience anyway
also, curious fact, i get bad-ass migraines (stroke level, including peripheral vision blindness, numbness and tingling in arms and face, and extreme limiting of cognitive function (can't understand ppl if they talk to me, and can't string a sentence together myself), and then all the normal headachey, can't look at light stuff), but had none in the time i had mono and CFS... now i'm better i started getting em again (only occasionally luckily)
they dont know what causes migraines, could be an interesting area of study... Get on it, drug person!

My third line product is actually a migraine drug (Maxalt 10mg), though I only sell it. Research isn't quite my area of focus at the moment
They do know that as you get older though, migraines tend to diminish.

I'm drinking tonnes. I have to really to try and keep the throat infection under control.
I'm up right now at 2am because my throat and ears are burning like hell.
That's probably the worst bit about it, the susceptibility to secondary infections. Lil was right in calling it AIDS-lite, it does feel a little but like that.
Makes you appreciate just how bad AIDS sufferers have it really, but about 100x worse

haha fuck man, i know exactly what you're going thru. i wish i had a cure-all for ya; but nothing helped me at all until i got an IV in me.
i remember all food tasting like disease, on top of all the pain. i even tried drinking/gargling with chloroseptic, but that didn't really do much at all.
however, i do wonder if Peroxyl would help. it's hydrogen peroxide that's mint flavored. made by colgate. i guess if anything it would help keep the area clean :/

Nah i wasn't on anything... I really wasn't in heaps of pain anyway, mostly just discomfort... wasn't unbearable, and didn't get as bad as you obviously (being hospitalised :O )
