Yeah pretty much all this. I"ve only been with family though, so my stay is pretty hassle-free
Everyone is overly nice to tourists because they all want to get your money. It's not as bad as it sounds, the dollar is pretty strong there. I believe the exchange rate is like 1 dollar = 7-8 egyptian pounds.
