TV is a left-wing conspiracy, says right wing nutjob.
Sesame street "promotes civil disobedience"
|The Big Bird manifesto: TV's left-wing messages|
It might look innocent, but Sesame Street promotes left-wing messages according to a conservative US author.
PRIME-time television shows such as Sesame Street and Friends are being used to brainwash audiences into left-wing ideals, according to a US author.
In his new book, Primetime Propaganda, investigative author and right-wing columnist Ben Shapiro claims Hollywood has been secretly using hit television shows to promote a "radical" left-leaning political agenda.
Shapiro, who has published books including Brainwashed and Porn Generation: How Social Liberalism is Corrupting our Future, claims he has evidence to prove how TV bosses have tried to use the medium of broadcasting to "shape America in their own leftist image".
He says he interviewed dozens of leading industry figures, some of who admitted to including a left wing bias in their shows.
In the book, he says Friends undermines family values, while Sesame Street teaches ethnic groups civil disobedience.
Sesame Street is shown on ABC 4 Kids daily.
He hit shows such as Macgyver are not immune as Shaprio claims it encourages Americans to think guns are bad.
The controversial columnist is no stranger to promoting his extreme views.
He has also used his profile to take a swipe at talk show queen Oprah Winfrey by saying she used her support to get President Barack Obama into office.
He has also questioned why American Jews continue to support a president who is anti-Israeli, calling them Jews in name only.
