I don't have my medical print sources and the internets are confusing me. Lesson learned: don't try to do assignments outside of the library.
I need Jenny on speed dial.
CPR = cardio-pulminary resuscitation.
It is most certainly idiomatic, people just forget what acronyms mean.

Out there we'd be served fruit, muffins, cereal, toast, cooked things like eggs & peameal etc and they'd expect you to eat most of those things as just one long breakfast. Here it's more like you have cereal & a cup of tea & that's it. I noted how much better I feel when I'd had a substantial breakfast, how I lacked mega-hunger before lunch etc. I guess we can learn things from you hosers eh
They have done much reasearch on the way meals should be, They find that the largest meal of the day should be breakfast. Reason being, is that your first meal sets your energy level for the whole day, kickstarts your metabolism, and gives your body the much needed nutrients it spent while sleeping. So have a large breakfast, a mid size lunch, and a small dinner, and you will notice a HUGE change in your energy level.

I hate eating a big breakfast. I eat a big dinner.
Meals do not "kick start your metabolism" anyway, and the whole idea that skipping meals slows your metabolism or that eating lots of small meals will make you lose weight is BS:

I’d note, tangentially and I’ll come back to this below, that there is no data in humans that skipping a single meal or even a day’s worth of meals does anything to metabolic rate. Human metabolism simply doesn’t operate that quickly and various research into both fasting and intermittent fasting show, if anything, a slight (~5% or so) increase in metabolic rate during the initial period of fasting. The idea that skipping breakfast or a single meal slows metabolic rate or induces a starvation response is simply nonsensical.

Yeah. My girlfriend and I are used to speaking in Japanese to one another whenever it's embarrassing to say something in Portuguese (we hardly badmouth other people though, we usually just say stuff like "OMG, I really need to fart right now!"). Needless to say, this became a bit of a problem in Japan because we were supposed to do it the other way around, but it's hard to shake off an old habit.
Saying in a packed train that you want to fart in a language everybody understands is a lot more embarrassing than it sounds

Metabolism is slower in the morning because you just got done not moving for seven or eight hours, not because you didn't eat while sleeping.
I never was saying most of what you were quoting. Nothing changes unless you go weeks or months on the same routine. Kind of like when people skip breakfast for years, and then try to eat it in the morning, and eat a huge breakfast, they get sick.
As for meal frequency, I have never seen/heard/read anything that said you can lose weight from eating more or less frequently. It just sounds quite ridiculous in and of itself. The only thing I can see it regulating is your energy level. To keep it from spiking basically.
Oh and big, delicious breakfast ftw.

Ahh okay, I figured you might be assuming that sort of stuff, so I felt the need to post about it.

No worries. Better to call me out early, than to hear me spout that kind of bullshit.
Anyone know any good medical journal sites I can read? I love reading that kind of stuff.
Oh and did anyone hear about that kid that got the first stem cell created trachea transplant in a child?

Circulation has all of its articles more than a year old up to read for free, if you are interested in cardiovascular stuff.
