First one was ok, but still a pretty generic shooter. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

The reviews aren't that great. I watched the 1UP podcast where they reviewed it and they were pretty spot on. I suggest you download it and watch it.

Mind summarizing what they said?

I loved the first one. Intense as all hell with ridiculously awesome boss battles, accompanied with 40 person multiplayer that was sheer chaos anytime you wanted to play. It may not be the best, most revolutionary FPS out there, but god damn did I think it was fun.

Lemme know what you think, Chach. I want to pick this up myself, but I don't got the change required at this time.

Gotta run off to work now but I'll do it for you when I get back

It's actually a really good show by the way. Fun to watch and good reviews.

Well the game is much better than the first. Which is good, I'm about maybe an 2 hours into it though lol. The graphics are on par the background quality is lacking. For people that say it looks better than gow2 don't listen they are retarded. What I do enjoy is the graphic details of the aliens and the gore in this game. They look fucking scary lol I have jumped plenty of times already in the dark areas The graphics when aiming are super sharp and the slow down boost with the sniper rifle is bad ass. Haven't gotten lots of the other enemies weapons yet and I'm excited to see what they came up with for this game. Story isn't anything special didn't really pay attention to it, but I guess there are more "sentinels". ??? Don't remember if that was mentioned in the first. As for the gameplay this is where the game comes through for me. And pkc fuck all your computer fps that are a million times better than anything on a console controls are great and simple. I'm gonna wait a bit to play the multiplayer but from what I heard its loads of fun. I would play right now but there is good college football on I'll post moar later.

Single Player

More diverse environments
Very tense, well set up
Enemies 95% of the time ignore everyone and only go for you. Breaks the illusion a lot
"Enemy Radar" - They always know where you are for some reason
Enemies behind cover can still shoot you easily but you can't hit them due to the cover
Huge game, large scale. Still linear though
Good SP but very "sterile"
WW2 and futuristic doesn't quite gel well enough
Dull parts of the game are REALLY dull
Better SP than first game but not that special
Not a cohesive storyline

Co-Op

Best part of the game
"Like a WOW raid but for FPS"
Very DPS based
Teamwork CRITICAL!
Much better than Singleplayer

the co-op was the best in resistance 1

I loved the game, and all the guns and their nifty little tricks. (my favorite was the normal real gun with granade launcher, and the bubbles)

Now i hear you have a pistol which sounds sick. I cant wait to play it (but prob will play in january when i see a buddy of mine with a ps3)

Thanks for the summary. Sounds like a pretty well-rounded review with plenty of good points, and plenty of things Insomniac should look out for when planning Resistance 3.
