I'm surprised Liam isn't in this thread yet!

I listened to them both. They both have catchy tunes, but I probably listened to Oasis more.

Who I liked better, probably neither.

Much as I thought Blur was great, I was always a much bigger fan of Oasis.

i think blur are 10x better. oasis put out one good album (definitely maybe) and then everything after that sounded exactly the same. even noel himself said that their third album was shit cos they were doing too many drugs. blur kept reinventing themselves from shoegaze to brit pop to lo-fi. their music is a lot more interesting.

re: the verve:
the verve pre-Urban Hymns are the greatest band ever, but they weren't brit pop. Urban Hymns was basically an ashcroft solo album and a pop record. yes, their most popular, but the weakest cos nick mccabe took a backseat to the songwriting process. listen to anything put out before then and they sounded completely different and much more interesting. at least their new album hearkens back to a bit of the early verve, and isn't urban hymns part 2.

I prefer The Smiths or Gene to either Blur or Oasis.
