I would say the egg.
Technically speaking, the chicken wouldn't be considered a chicken unless it layed eggs. The ancestors to chickens are actually dinosaurs (cause all birds are evolved from dinos), and dinos laid eggs. Therefore the first chicken was hatched from an egg laid by its immediate ancestor.
