+1 Yes, I get Iggy didn't come back for me. Enough with the damn ads already!
You have to admit though... the Cons media machine has grown very strong and unfortunately, quite effective as well. Looks like they've learned a few things from their counterparts south of the border. The Libs and NDP have a lot of catching up to do.
They definitely learned something from their counterparts. These attack adds have been going on for months now and to date I haven't seen a single add from the Liberals and only one add from the NDP. I just wish they would tell me what they actually stand for instead of telling me that the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc are all evil.

The problem is they don't stand for anything. They claimed to stand for fiscal responsibility and then increased spending by 19% BEFORE the financial stimulus plan. They claimed to stand for an elected senate; then appointed senators. They claimed to stand for accountability; then tried to stall/mislead the person they appointed to oversee accountability. They claimed to stand for transparent government; then they tried so desperately to hide the cost of their preposed legislation and deals that they have actually been found in contempt of parliment... think about that for a second, a government found to be acting purposefully AGAINST the best interests of the country... a first for Canada. The sad truth is that the once principled Reform party has degenerated into a party so desperate to hold power that they have broken pretty much every one of the values they claim to hold dear. They're a brokerage party; they stand for getting re-elected.

No lie, Harper uses many of the same campaign managers that Bush did that's why you'll see strategies mirror so closely.

Anything can change. I probably would not vote Cons next election but I don't see much of an alternative. Iggy inspires as much confidence as Dion. Taliban Jack don't count and I would actually vote for Duceppe if he wasn't Bloc.
Soooo true. I love Duceppe in the debates he's the only one that speaks his mind and doesn't look like a complete tard.
It's a very sad state in the options that we currently have to choose from.

Duceppe is in the lucky position where he can speak his mind because he knows there is no possible way he can ever be elected PM.

Only reason that I'd accept GG refusing the Cons (or any minority govt for that matter) and asking the opposition to form the govt is if the Cons win the next election and forms govt, and shortly after the opposition parties force another election, and the Cons win another minority govt but the opposition parties will force another election. This is to break the continuous deadlock, and to get a functional govt going.
Four Elections in 7 years... I think the argument could be made that we're already at the scenario you just described. No it's not a 90 day Joe Clark style minority defeat, but the deadlock scenario is the same, with no prospect for change anytime soon. It may actually be in the taxpayers best interest to look at the coalition option.

This is true, but regardless out of the 4 of them his questions/answers are the only ones that aren't full of shit.
I just can't believe the libs really stand behind Iggy so much. Man that guy is an idiot. Totally reminds me of the Bush/Gore election where both were crap but at the same time people just didn't want to deal with Gore for 4 years. It's elections like those (horrible choice and even worse choice) that make me believe those conspiracies of higher up shadow governments trying to fix elections so people vote for their primary puppet. 35 million people (or 10x that in the States' case) and those are really the best 2 candidates you can find? Really?

Is there really any difference anymore between the Cons and BQ?
One is a party supported by pissed off Quebecers, designed to screw everybody else over in order to make themselves feel better.
The other is a party supported by pissed off Albertans and other western good ol boys, designed to screw everybody else over in order to make themselves feel better.
Cons want to win a majority? Dump Harper and the rest of the hardcore So-Cred wannabes, elect McKay as leader and go back to the Progressive Conservative doctrine that most Canadians can stomach when they're pissed off at the Liberals.

I disagree. Minority govts are forced to have an election every 2 years or so, if you look at the history of Canadian elections.
There was similar occasion from 62 till 68 with 4 elections. No use of reserve powers was needed.
