About Keith Kemp:

A Detroit native, Keith Kemp's exposure to electronic music via Industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy and Brian Eno sparked an early infatuation with synthesizers and audio software. Club life after high school inspired Keith's interest in spinning records, connecting the dots to Detroit artists such as Plastikman, Underground Resistance and Carl Craig.

During this time, Keith could be spotted collecting vinyl at various record stores around the metro Detroit area, and later selling vinyl at the revered "Dance Room" of Record Time. With a growing record collection, Keith set out to make his mark in the heyday of Detroit's mid-90's rave scene, cutting his teeth in the Midwest with travels across the country to Seattle, New York, Memphis, Milwaukee, Omaha, Chicago and of course Ohio and Windsor. These years saw Keith develop into a highly regarded technical performer, combining his love of house, Industrial and German minimalism with Detroit techno, highlighted with performances at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2002 and 2005.

After strictly DJing for a few years, he took the next logical step by cutting down his schedule and returned to his machines, working hard on his own unique take on electronic dance music. A self-described computer nerd and gear head, Keith has been collecting equipment since 1992 and has since established a technical prowess manipulating computers, samplers and synthesizers. He has since focused on various creative areas of electronic music: DJ, producer, operating a label, and performing his own music live.

Currently based in San Francisco, Keith continues to push his deep house and techno inspired compositions with digital and vinyl releases on Beretta Grey, D Records, Ferrispark and Gravid Digital.

About The Worker:

San Francisco promoter and DJ producing techno and international electronic nights,The Worker established a series of unique and innovative international electronic nights, Stateless and Novo Sounds, which focused on developing electronic sounds from various parts of the world, bringing acts such as Rob Smith (Smith and Mighty) DJ/rupture, Timeblind, Mexican Dubwiser, Maga Bo, Filastine and acts from Tunisia, India and Spain to clubs in SF. In 2007 he began Fiction with DJs André Lucero and Christian Schmidt - focusing on techno, electro and mutant disco and running a monthly at Vertigo with one-offs at various clubs throughout SF. The Worker is deeply inspired and influenced by tech house, techno and minimal and searches for the freshest developments in these sounds from various regions of the world. His sets reflect this broad vision and eclecticism but are rooted in a foundation of deep, grinding, percussive tech beats that make his DJ sets resonant with various dancefloors.

Kaskade is doing the NYE event at Ruby, so i would presume Behrouz on the 20th.

This week at Killswitch, we've got the two ladies that are making Friday mornings troublesome for you. As resident DJs behind the Endup night, Phonic, J.Phlip & Ladyhouse have featured bumpin tech-house talent like Funk D'Void, Simon Baker, Jesse Rose, and local favorite Worthy, and know how to party it up when you want to get an early start on the weekend. Keep the holiday beats going at Killswitch!

About J. Phlip

J.Phlip, known to most as Jess or Jessica Rose Phillippe, was completely ruined when she discovered house music in her hometown of Champaign, IL just 2 hours south of Chicago. This location might help describe the how or why behind the unique genre bending blend that Phlip brings to the dancefloor. Perhaps it was the proximity to Chicago that let house music make its influence, but the distance that allowed her the freedom to eventually welcome other sounds into her mix. Her sets posses this fun lets-not-forget-this-is-dance-music feeling and simultaneously keeps you guessing as to what might come next. Her collection spans house, tech house, deep house, techno, random bleeps, and special bloops. In 2005 she won the Beauty and the Beats competition, since then she has made name for herself as a DJ in Chicago and now as DJ-slash-Producer in San Francisco, soon to be released on the San Francisco based label Dirtybird.

About Ladyhouse:

LadyHouse aka Karlyn Neel began her experience in the deep basements of San Francisco in the exploding house scene in 1992. Dubbed "Ladyhouse" by Release resident DJ Terence Toy, Karlyn has been rocking numerous SF venues like Kelly's Mission Rock, 1015, 111 Minna, Mezzanine, and most recently as resident DJ at the Endup's night, Phonic. Having rocked dance floors with trips around the country and abroad, Ladyhouse continues to keep the beat going, making her contributions in the studio with releases on Plastic City, and her own Deep Frisco label. Her love for electronic music keeps her hands on the decks and ours in the air. Ladyhouse's feminine touch and energetic style insure that this is only the beginning of a fierce career, and a wonderful contribution to the story that is House.
