What stands are you using for your speakers? and where abouts did you get them from?
They are nothing brand specific really.. Local shop in town carries them. They are only about $68 each, but sturdy as hell.

Those monitors are the first monitors that have made me want monitors Confused yet? lol..
Lovely setup, have a black light lying around after my sister's 21st (Rave theme.. i dj'd, i now want to play out more, it's horrible as i'm about to go travelling for a year )
Anyway, i've decided not to use the black light as the light hurts my eyes (no, i'm not staring directly into it) But i've read that it's not the best light to have around you for long periods..
Dunno if it's true or not.

Mine are always on... i have a regular lamp as well near my booth, so its kinda half and half... haven't had any issues with my eyes... actually, regular lights (in an office etc) bother my eyes much worse than a black light ever has (and it never has)..

Sweet i thought they'd be a lot more..
For her 21st we had a Rave theme. 110 people showed up at our house. U.V. lights were an obvious must, and then of course the UV paint!..
Put it this way, i'm still finding curtains with the shit in it, taps (sink taps) with paint still on them.. etc etc
Great night and the first time i 'played out'..
It sucks now though, as i really want to play out again but can't as i'm off travelling so wont be dj'ing for 12-18 months Just as it's getting becoming really fun for me..

Where are you going and what are you doing?, do you spin on CDJs or use Serato?, maybe look into DJing while travelling, you may be able to get hooked up to spin sometimes.

In 14 days time, i'll be flying into thailand. Spending 3 weeks there (mainly the islands) and then from there i'm moving on to sydney. Staying there for 3 months or so, down to melbourne, on to brisbane maybe (basically going up the coast at this stage).
Might spin over to Perth at some stage and do a bit of the west coast as well. Then on to New zealand and Fiji for maybe a month to 6 weeks in total.
Then I've got to see where my money situation is at. If i have the funds i'd be tempted to either hit the states or south america.
Otherwise i'll be going back to thailand and staying there for another 4-8 weeks.
I use serato, so doubt i'll be able to get a good setup going out there as i wont have cd's with me.
Anyway it's a sacrifice worth making, i know that and i'm not complaining, but as with everything. It's when something is taken away from you that you realise how much you're going to miss it..

edit: To answer your question though, i'm travelling. Also i would love to dj while away but i'm not good enough yet to play out as such, so my only realy way of spinning would be by flook. Finding someone with a set up, and EDM (most importantly)..

Nice plan man, that sounds killer.
Don't you know anyone in Australia with a DJ setup, or maybe some other TAs who are there that you could meet up with?, if you take your laptop, who knows, maybe you will meet someone with Serato as well.

Nah don't think i can bring my laptop, it is a good idea etc.. but it would just be another thing that i'd be looking after. Already have a large enough camera to take care of.
I don't have any mates... lol who have gear over here (dublin) so chances of knowing someone the other side of the planet are slim
I do know a girl, and she might have mates with decks.. Sure i'll just bring my vinyl
