Hey, speaking of DJM 500's, mine just showed up in the mail today (I got it for $250). I was only able to tinker about with it for a bit and now I have to go to work in a minute. Expect some pics up later tonight though
From what I can tell I like it so far. It took me a while to figure out how to cue, I've never had to deal with a trim setting before
I haven't decided whether I'll keep it or sell it on ebay though

I agree with you on the channel meters. Ecler really missed the boat on that one.
I have the nuo 4 and have to say its really not a big deal. its actually even easier to look at the VU meter when its always right next to the master level. it has definately helped me keep levels in line a bit more...just my 2c

You might see this guy on ebay in the not-too-distant future if I don't absolutely love it in a few weeks

This weekend was something new for DannyO and Myself... Decided to spin on friday night (not something new ) but we decided that we needed to combine our DJ setups together, as DannyO wanted to try out my new Nuo4, but we still wanted to use his mixer for effects and sampling, Matrix unit, etc etc..
The result was one hell of alot gear pushing upwards of $8000. All worth it though as we fuckin went nuts spinning. Tony Morello made a visit aswell. Here are the pics I took this morning of the setup. Night/Spinning photos will need to be provided by DannyO.
Enjoy

How do you Nuo 4 owners like them? I'm strongly considering it as my next mixer. I might have enough money in the near future to afford something like a Xone 92 or DJM-800, but if the Nuo 4 is as good as I'm hearing, I think I could just get one of those, and spend the difference on a Bistream 3x and Soundbite Micro

I love mine, Tony REALLY liked the EQ's on it.. and I have heard ONLY good things about it when I was researching it... It will be my last mixer for quite awhile.

I can't get over all the Nuo 4s of recent. I was questioning my choice of mixer, but I don't think I will be now. Pics to come soon.

Well, as if anyone else cares, I'm LOVING my DJM 500, no matter how dated it may be these days. The sound isn't as good as my DXM06, and it may not have the kills, but I've gotten used to it and I'm loving it. My only major quibble is the effects in it. There's no beat-synching button for them so they wind up sounding out of whack. I've decided to not really use the mixer's effects but just use the built-in effects on my cdjs.
Another question is the bpm counter on the mixer seems to always be one bpm off of what the cdjs say. Like usually I'll play a track at 130 bpm and the mixer says it's at 129 bpm, both on real and average settings. I've resorted to just trusting the cdjs and their readings of the bpms since they always match, and I'm guessing have newer bpm technology than the DJM 500.
