It's how much extract they put onto a leaf.
5x = 500% stronger than regular leaf.
Lets say they take 500 grams of leaves. They will take 400g and extract the salvinorin A (the chemical that fucks you up) with grain alcohol. They will take the extract and evaporate it onto the 100g of leaf. What you are left with is 100g of 5x salvia.
When they say "Extract" it usually always means, "Extract-fortified leaf". The actual extract is a tar substance.

Cool. Thanks for that info. I had no idea what the numbers meant either except that the higher the number, the more fucked up you get. Now if I could stop spending all my money on weed and pills, I could get some salvia...
