Hokay, so...

Way back in late November, I finally got around to purchasing a vapourizer. I bought a $200 model called the Arizer V-tower. I wanted to share my experience with it so far with all of my fellow cOr Chronosieurrs.

I bought it in late November, and used up what little weed I had at the time. On Dec 1, 2010, I bought a half ounce. A half-ounce under normal circumstances will last me 3-4 weeks, smoking anywhere from .5g-2g per day.

As of tomorrow, March 19 2011, I will be finishing that half ounce.

Holy fuck.

I knew that vapes would help me save weed and make it last longer, but I had no idea just how efficient they really are when compared to smoking. What's more, I can be even MORE efficient than I am. On a few occasions I went out to blaze with friends and since we were smoking, used much more weed than vaping would have used. I could have easily made it to April on a half ounce.

In addition to that, my vape has a digital temperature control. This is very useful because weed has a number of different cannabinoids that all have different effects (generalized as: stimulant/suppressant). Given the nature of those chemicals and at what temp they will actually vapourize, this gives me control over the TYPE of high that I want in the moment, be it a more stimulating energetic high (180C) or a more couch-lock standard high (230C). What this also means is that IF I vape at a lower temp, I can re-vape later on at the higher temp for a more drowsy high (vape at 180 during the day when I'm active, re-vape at 230 at night before bed). This is absolutely amazing to me, and I'm enjoying it very much.

Lastly, I want to point out just how much MORE high I get by using the vape. I mentioned earlier that I would smoke .5g-2g per day, these were always in .5g "doses" to get the desired high. Using my vape, I can not use up a .5 in the bowl... I can't even come close. I get SO high, that I have to stop myself and I can get high again later on to finish it off (regardless of temperature the first-sesh happens at). Mind you, I grab premium bud, so just how much you need to get high will depend on quality, regardless, it WILL get you more high.

To anybody out there on the fence about getting a vape, having a hard time justifying the cost, or who wants one but may have heard you have to get a $600 Volcano because every other model sucks, I want to recommend that you look into the Arizer V-Tower. For $200 or $300 (depending on whether you want a vape bag or not), you can get an amazing vapourizer that comes with a fucking warranty, and works just as well as the Volcano. It pays for itself incredibly quickly (half ounce costs me $140, vape was $200 and I've been able to skip 3.8 grabs = $320 savings), and the act of vapourizing your weed eliminates almost all of the carcinogens and other harmful effects on your lungs.

btw - u know u can take those burned weed brownies - collect enough of them, throw in the oil for 30 minutes, drain through cheese cloth or smth like that. make brownies with that oil:

1 cp flour
1 cp sugar
10 0z chocolate
1 tbsp soda
1 tbsp salt
1.5 cup of crisco or equivalent
3 eggs

about 5g of cooked weed cake from vaporizer(save them up!)

throw burned pieces into pot, pour oil and simmer (no bubbling) for about 30 mins

strain oil

now, melt 10 oz of chocolate, mix weed oil in. once smooth, let cool.

Once cool, add salt, flour, baking soda, eggs and mix it all up with cocolate. Tip: if you add more chunks of chocolate, your brownie will be more smooth with chocolatey cubes of cream. Or you can also add walnut for some crunch! Whatever you add, Once smooth, ad chocolate chunks or walnuts (to taste), mix them in.

line 8x8 baking pan with aluminum foil. Pour your brownie mix in and stick in the oven set to 325F and let cook for about 30 - 40 mins. When top is "glassy" (doesn't look like musse) - pull out and let cool. (about 1 hr in freezer)

Once cool, slice into 16 pieces! YES!!! 16! and enjoy 1 yes 1 piece. you may think it's little but trust me - about 2 hrs later you'll be off your tits for about 7 hours... woot. still chillin from my brownie, ingested around 4pm and now it's 11:10. But I did add a bowl or two about an hour ago... soooooooooooo buzzzzzin!

At 225 degrees Celsius, all of the active chemicals in marijuana are burned away. Any left-overs will be trace amounts that I really couldn't care less about saving up for brownies. Maybe it's the chef in me, but when I want to make brownies, I use fresh product.

But, is that a nitrous canister?

LOL, what? 325F - farenheit, not celcius. That's 162 C. And it's a Vapir NO2 vaporizer - not nitrous cannister. And as far as using fresh product - sure. However, some of us, cheap bastard like to recycle.

No. 225 degrees celcius.

If you're burning at 162, you're only getting about 1 third of the chemicals activated. THC itself boils at 157, so 162 would be the prime candidate to get ONLY the THC out of the weed. But you're leaving a whole collection of other active cannabinoids behind.

You can see that there are quite a few sedatives a stimulant, and a euphoriant, that are NOT activated at 162 degrees. Mostly sedatives, which is why I will often burn at a lower temp (170-180, usually 180 for convenience) for that more energetic high, and then finish if off later at 230 to kill all the sedatives in the weed before bed.
