Haaa, today I finally got ADSL. Hahah, no more 56k, woohoo!!!! |
Congratulations......definatly worth having....in a few months time you will look back and wonder how you managed on 56k...
| quote: | | Eh, 24Mbit? Now you ruined all this awe and amazement I had about 384k... |
384k aint that bad....ok its not great, lets be honest.....but still good enough for downloading sets from the amateur DJ section on TA, you should be able to download 1 hours music in about 30 minutes depending on the bit rate, which aint bad.
My origional broadband connection was 512k, but now i have 1mbit which is a big improvement and i can download sets in 10-15 minutes. but you will always want faster and better, and then those old days of 56k really will seem like the stoneage.
But St_Andrews 24mbit connection is impressive if its a connection in the home, you cant get that here yet, nowhere near it, not for a domestic house connection anyway.
I believe in Japan they have a 1 gigabite connection for houses, now man that is truely serious broadband, but thats the way its going, connections will just get faster and faster and cheaper too.
Just a question what are most of our American PDDs useing.....if broadband what speeds are normal in the States, and what do you have at home.
