Yepp, that's how I see it too. Just that Im not sure how direct the relationship is... As trancaholic just pointed out... Normally I would take #1 (cause i love challanges), but this time it's just so many things against it so Im not sure at all.

If you have a UK passport you also have a EU passport, which grants you the same rights as any other citizen in any other country within the EU you want to live in

Depends on your choice of career. If connections are an important aspect of the job (like in management and politics), you might be able to convince someone that you know a lot of the right people by showing that you have attended school with these people. But even then, it will only be a tie-breaker, if the position is between you and someone with the same education as you.
When I applied for my current job, the professor I work under looked over my CV and basically said "remove this" to everything but my candidate degree and my teaching experience. He was convinced that showing the ability to know what's relevant and what's not (by thinning the CV) was more important than showing that you're a well-liked guy with plenty of work experience. As he was regularly appointed to rate applicants himself, I of course took his advice. And it worked out, too.
I know how good it feels to achieve a great grade, and how you're unstoppable at that point, but the sad fact of the matter is that grades and praise only helps you to the next level, and when you're rated by others they only look at your most recent grades. I guess the same goes when you're looking for a job. It doesn't matter to the future employer what you did prior to your last job, or what credentials landed you that job, but only what the last job was and how you handled it.

yeah everything you say makes sense. Except that "grades and praise only helps you to the next level", in order to go to the next level I would need a good current level. So this would help me to reach the next level better, which is university, that would help me to get a job, and that job would help me get the next job and so on. So in order to get there you need to start somewhere, even though I won't have use for it all my life. Makes sense or also wrong thinking?

As for which country to move to, I would probably try the UK/Ireland (they speak english and got lots of jobs), Italy (good food, great langauge, great ppl), some eastern euro country like Czhec rep, poland, estonia etc (they are developing fast, friendly and open people, still not as westernized as we), scandianvia (great ppl and nice mentality, sucky climate tho, and sometimes very snowed in ppl).

Other than the EU I would love to go to south america, I heard so much good about it. Easy to get work permits and jobs there if you are a westerner too (at least so I heard). Great party life too, and a lot more relaxed than Europe, and A LOT MORE than north america! (have never been there myself, so only baseing this on other peoples experience and people I met from there)

I would also like to go to china and live there for a while (not for too long tho, fucking commie government), it's such a developing society, and everyone who has been there have told me its really cool.

And of course the US is really cool, but thats a lot harder if you dont have any good special skills.

There are plenty of others, but those would be my first priorities right now!

it just seems like i can't ask the right questions, that'll help me choose.

at least i've been having a bit more luck getting the information i want through instant messengers.

i'll try asking some of the questions, and see if i can get the information i'm after:

how much can i expect to pay for a 1 room apartment per month (including bills)?
how much can i expect to pay for food over a month?
what is the minimum wage? if there is none, how much can i expect to be paid at low-level jobs such as mcdonalds?

how developed is the edm scene?
if underdeveloped (up to 3 clubs), do you believe there are enough people interested in it, that just don't have the proper outlet? do you believe it's the fault of the law/government?
if overdeveloped (above 7 clubs, at least one of them being mainstream), do you believe the scene can be penetrated? do you believe there is room for more 'underground'?
how many edm record shops do you have there? how good are they? how much does a record cost?

Okay, so I have a dilemma:

I have just started school here again, the same school as when I left school for Canada. It's the best secondary school in my town but nothing that would be something to put up on a international level or anything But still decent school, not too much work, not to lame. Anyhow, someone else from another school about two hours from here asked me if I didnt want to go there for my last year of school. They got free spots and would be happy to take me in with my grades and so on. This school would be one of Sweden's absolute best ones with a funding about twice as high as the one im currently attending (I wouldn't need to pay any extra tho). I would also get the possiblity to choose a lot more extra courses and raise my average. So it's by far a better education there than what im currently getting.

However, here are the problems. The school is at some kind of manor in the midle of nowhere, and after spending 1 year at a farm in the middle of nowhere in Ontario I dont know if I want to do that again. Sure this would be different cause i would live in some kind of residence where lots of other students would live so it would be good party all the time I guess. Another problem tho is that I really like my life as it currently is, I live downtown in a big nice house, with good food cooked for me everyday, with lots of great friends that I really love (even tho they are kind boring sometimes ). And my new class I'm starting here seems to be lots of fun! So I would leave a lot behind me, I also have a few projects going on here that I would like to continue.

So what do you think I should do? Education above current quality of life? Safe social life or take a risk? etc.

Unless you want to make new friends and become rich I wouldn't suggest going there.

Also, question, isn't all school payed for by the Swedish government?
One of my friends who was a Danish exchange student had his whole semster payed for here in the USA plus an additional monthly stipend which payed for his rent, food, and gave him some spending money. Really insane.

The other question is will you do University in your home town or will you leave? If you will leave next year, it just might be better to stay home for a year ... you might not have many more years to live at home.

yes all school is free. This school would be too, but it would be extra funded by corporate money and some private donors too I think.

and yeah, I could go abroad too and have almost everything paid for Gotta love this communist shit

Yes I will most likely leave, either to Stockholm, UK or somehwere else in Europe or for north america. So yeah this is for sure the last year I live at home for any longer periods.

Okay, here's some sad news.

I just recieved the following e-mail.

quote:

Subject: PRAISE!!1

Hi everyone,

a quick praise that i want to share with you before I go back to work!

Just an hour ago, a young man accepted Christ!!! He came in to ask about the English class and
stayed to look at some stuff.
I asked him whether he believes in Christ, and with the help of Obed, who spends his afternoons at the CEB,
we were able to lead him to Christ!!
We will read through the book of John with him and study it. It is really exciting and I ask you to pray for him.

Well, I let you know more as soon as possible.

In Christ,

xxx

Yes. It is an authentic e-mail. Yes I know this person. Or better: I used to know her.

I have met her years ago on a vacation in Turkey. A good looking German girl. She would host me when I came to the Berlin LP-parties. She would seduce me. She would be fun!

The came the exchange year in the US. Lubbock(?), Texas. Afterwards I wouldnt recognize her anymore. She delivered me a 40-minute-long monolog about Christ and the beauty of the Bible and I just couldnt believe the amount of brainwashing she must have gone through. First I laughed. Then I shook my head. Today I'm just shocked and sad. Every email contains "Christ" "His faithful name " and "LORD" about 68 times. It's like some alienes kindapped the real her and replaced her by some zombie

Just felt like sharing. I'm surely going to hell for this.

Yeah, bring her on. Tell her that this board is full of heathens and that she must preach to us and lead us towards salvation. And then we'll gang up on her and wash those nonsenses out of her head!

Well, at least if we cant 'convert' her, we'll be able to have a damn good laugh at her expense!

I think it's a dead end. But come on, considering that even MY arguments failed to convince her, how would you guys wanna achieve a re-convertion?
