What amazes me is American ladies fascination with the British... If a girl meets a British fellow and wants to date him, I'll ask, "So what's so great about this guy?" The response: "He's British!" Okay.. yea... so what? He's still a person. I wonder if they even care anything about them... like perhaps their political views? The horror of dating a Conservative!!! I half kid... I've had a little too much wine with dinner tonight.

Ya know I would get excited and hop on the first plane over to America but unfortunately what you describe as "British" is neither me nor Dervish! I have been told most Americans would not know we would be from Britain due to our non-Hugh Grant accents!

Actually it becomes even more amazing when you read my last two posts and realise thats how they English are like!! I suspect Americans have a very warped view of what an English/British man is supposed to be like. You dont really see anything other than the pathetic bumbling Hugh Grant type on TV/films so you might get the impression (or hope) that thats what the British are like. What I suggest is you get a copy of a DVD (or look up on the internet) called "Rab C Nesbitt" to find out what British men are really like!
