FYI for those of you in the US, you should watch "The Deadliest Catch" on the discovery channel. It's about Alaskan king crab fishermen who fish the baring straits. Supposedly it's the most dangerous job in the World (although somehow I think a Chinese mine might be more dangerous). The show is kinda cool, it's on Tuesdays at 9pm and 12am EST and it repeats throughout the rest of the week. Just thought I'd share ...

By the way, invade the COR and wish Renegade a happy birthday:
I thought so too, but I think that depending upon how you view the data, there may be multiple results. For example, an Alaskan King crab fishing season my last only a few weeks whereas a timber cutter is employed year round. Therfore, the number of days worked for any given job may lead to greater fatality rates when one considers the overall time worked:
My guess is that if the Alaskan king crab fishing season were longer, the number of fatalities would far exceed timber cutting.

What the fuck, man? My drunk, unintelligible gurgle of a post led to this sticky? Serves me right, I guess.
Hey, before I screw my boss over and quit in a month or so, me and the Mrs. are gonna take a week off to Puerto Vallarta. Anyone been there? If so, got any good eats, good drinking holes, good fishin' boats, etc. to recommend?

uh, don't drink the water! Avoid ice in your drinks too. (Of course that's from my Cancun experiences).

Yeah, I heard that as well as avoid any salads (water from cleaning the leaves). Just lotsa beer and bottled water I guess!

Yeah, Puerto Vallarta is nice as its a major Canadian destination, so they all hate cheap Canadians instead of cheap Americans. The main city area is pretty shit for swimming, as a major river dumps towards down nearby. its not awful for messing in tho. (head north or out to the nearby island sanctuary (as there is excellent snorkeling. Walking into the hills of town away from the ocean is pretty cool too, its less busy and touristy. Unfortunately one of the primary schools *does* have a Coca Cola basketball hoop.
The two main places out id recommend are The Zoo Bar (SOOH-BAH!) and Christines. Zoo is smaller, and open 24 hours and feels nice inside. Christines has an entry fee and all you can drink, and its like getting transported into Scarface or something inside. These Mexicans definitely like coke, or the 70s a LOT. (tho when considering the bball hoop...nevermind)
Head south for the area where Predator was filmed...its a jungle, with bars apparently. Prolly interesting, but as everything, will cost money. The gf hit it up last Feb, didnt seem too impressed. But she likely doesnt like yelling 'get to tha choppa' while chugging tequila. wow the tour guides must be sick of that...
Anyways...ill ask! Where you staying at? Are you going thru a charter like Apple? Ive stayed the Blue Bay Getaway, all inclusive and adults only...no nudity but frequent tequila volleyball, as well as an all inclusive near the tip of Punta Mita. Busride took about 1hr20mins to town, unlike the walking distance of BBG, but the location, ocean and activities were cooler. ATVing far far away from any touristy shit was pretty fun at that place. ATVing is available in town, but its way more expensive and way more dangerous looking...

Thanks for the info. biz. We're staying at the Westin - fairly recognizable name for a hotel so we're hopin we'll be okay.
I've heard of the Zoo, but we're gettin' to that age of wantin' to do more than just party 'till you puke and all that shit, so we're definitely on the lookout for some good eats, good chill out bars, and so on. But I'm sure we'll get a little nutty a night or two...

Ok, this being the drunken rambling thread, and me being in the post-club pre-bed zone, I thought about something I would like to ask you all:
1: What lead you to/why did you join TA?
2: What do you consider your greatest achievement here?
My answers:
1) Came here to leech mp3s back in 2000, and was agitated by a person on the forums who claimed that Holland was *the* trance country. Everyone knows that trance grew out of Germany.
2) I created the first thread on Picotto - ever! It was lost in the great fire of the Board System Switch back in 2001/2002 (don't remember exact date - bear with me).
