Haha, it really strikens you when you watch at that "chart" how ridiculous this whole war on terror is. More than 17 000 people die every year from car accidents in the US, which of 99% is basically possible to prevent. You just have to make it impossible to start the car drunk, make it impossible to speed, and impossible to not wear your seat belt. All technically possible today. Compared to the freedoms now limited in the name of fighting terrorism, that doesn't seem overly unrealistic, does it?

Neoconservatives use terrorism as a means to scare the electorate into voting for their candidates. Like when the Bush administration raised the terror threat level during the 2004 election. I fully expect McCain or Bush to pull some fear mongering bullshit.
