Which I wouldn't have survived if it weren't for kung fu reflexes saving me from a head first fall / slamming in to a telephone poll / snapping my neck / snapping my spine ... I haven't had the money to fix my bike yet , plus I had no medical insurance as I wasn't going to school that semester so my collar bone is all permanently fucked up now... I got a straight jab right on it too when I was sparring a few weeks ago, fucking hurt :/
I'll never buy a motorcycle. I've seen two guys dead on the side of the road with their motorcycles right next to them. Too many horror stories for me to risk it. I don't like taking risks anyways..

My first two vehicles had manual trannies. That shit is wack unless it is a Porsche, Lotus, ect... then it is cool.

all of my driving years have been stick shift. Even had a 69 Dodge Dart with it on the column (I really need to get that running). The present Gas Sipper is an automatic...

Take a motorcycle safety course before you get your liscence, it should statistically decrease the probability of your chance of being invovled in an accident by 90% (if I remember correctly).

I am seriously thinking about getting a bike ....
the cost of fuel is rising and plus once I move to back to the Houston area I have a "back" road path to take to work.... NO HIGHWAY... I am thinking about taking a refresher course before though......
Did you take one here in Austin??

In time meja.....in time...
I actually had to back out of a new car with the move and the planning of the new house. I actually did budget for it, but I WANT A POOL!!
p.s. am I shallow for wanting to start the pool first then the house??

Roll the car in as part of the mortgage and not a personal loan, I'd like a pool as well but there's nowhere to put it.
Up to you really, if you own your car outright then its not much more than a standard liability, stick fuel in and maintain then you may as well hang onto it as its not costing you much as-is.
(Your eldest will want a car soon though )
Think when the little Toyota dies/gets crashed (whichever comes first) we'll get a Golf or Jetta TDI as a run around.

I only did part of it, I didn't have transporation the day of the actual driving part (my old civic engine got locked). Yeah, going on the freeway your first time around is a bit freaky but you get used to it pretty quick, plus you have a lot more manuverability and you can haul ass . Tell me about it, I used to spend 30 bucks to fill my tank for my bike that lasted me 3 weeks easily. My dad refused to help me fix the bike, so I'm driving his stupid SUV... which is a gas guzzler . I fucking hate SUVs to begin with, cars for men insecure about the size of their dick and masculinity.
